Cataluna and Shaunavon Irish Setters

Liz tells the story of Cataluna and Shaunavon:

"I first registered the prefix Cataluna in 1971. The use of a
Spanish name came following conjecture that there was a
possibility of there being Spanish Pointers in the origin of
the Setter.

On his mother’s death in 1992 my husband took over the
prefix Shaunavon which dates back to the early 1930’s.

Originally I showed and owned Irish Setters but in 1986 I
bought an Irish Red and White from the Meudon Kennel
and although never breeding I have had an Irish Red and
White ever since. Woodwater Rafferty at Cataluna my
current Red and White Setter has been used at stud and
has currently sired two Show Champions. "
